If you are not familiar with car rental, we help you to clarify all your doubts so that you do not miss the opportunity to make the trip you want so much. We share some rental service FAQs that can help you get a clearer picture of the process.

What is the security deposit?

It is an amount that the rent a car will block on your credit card as a backup for the rented vehicle. At the end of the rent, in case there is no damage, this amount will be refunded in full between 3-5 working days. This requirement can only be made by credit card.

Are there mandatory coverages?

To rent a vehicle it is mandatory to have Vehicle Damage and Theft (CDW-TP) coverage and third-party damage protection (TPL). Both can be purchased at the counter when picking up the vehicle. 

What models of vehicles does Alamo have?

We offer a fleet of sedan vehicles: small to large, SUV’s, Pick Ups and VAN, with less than 2 years of being in our fleet.

Can I bring my pet in the vehicle?

You can take your hairy one for a walk, as long as you take care of the smell and upholstery of the car, because if you return the vehicle with odor or dirt of upholstery could be an additional charge.

Is there an additional charge for delivering the dirty vehicle?

We do not charge for external car washing, however, if the car is returned with a lot of dirt on upholstery, seats, wet smell, cigar, pets or pet hairs, an additional charge may be made.

What if I lose my car keys or my papers?

In these cases you should call the help desk or contact the agency where you rented the vehicle. An additional charge will be made for their replacement. 

Can I return the car to an other office or at the hotel where I am staying?

You can return the vehicle at any of our offices, this will have an additional charge. If you want to return the vehicle elsewhere, you should contact our agents to verify if it is possible and be able to provide you with the corresponding amount. 

What happens if I do not return the car at the exact time indicated in the contract?

The contract gives you 2 hours grace, from the third hour there may be additional charges. You need to contact the office where you made the reservation to let us know if there is any delay.
